In a recent article from Farm Weekly, the latest results from the quarterly Rabobank Rural Confidence Survey shows that almost half the nation’s farmers expect conditions to improve over the next year. One thousand primary producers were involved in this survey across various commodities and geographical locations. The last five years, respondents from all commodities reported an increase in productivity levels. Almost half (47%) of respondents were expecting agricultural conditions to improve in the next year, whilst 37% expected conditions to remain steady. Rabobank group executive for Country Banking Australia, Peter Knoblanche, said “an overall level of optimism was prevailing across much of the sector with strong commodity prices, generally favourable seasonal conditions and low currency and interest rates”.
