In a recent article from OwnerDriver, the Australia Trucking Association (ATA) has joined the National Heavy Vehicle Regulatory (NHVR) in supporting the fatigue management scheme for livestock transporters. The scheme, developed by NHVR, permits drivers working up to 14 hours each day for 11 days straight, but those wanting to use the scheme need to firstly have advanced fatigue management (AFM) accreditation. Recently, this scheme developed from NHVR has come under criticism from Professor Ann Willamson. To make it easier for operators to register for the scheme, the NHVR introduced a template, which the ATA supports.
